Georgian rescuers have discovered the bodies of 18 out of 20 people killed in the crash of a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft, Georgian Interior Minister Gela Geladze stated, RIA Novosti writes.
Turkey’s Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that a Lockheed C-130 Hercules military transport plane had crashed in Georgia, killing 20 people. Ankara is coordinating the search and rescue operation with Tbilisi.
“There were 20 people on board. The bodies of 18 have been recovered. The search continues for the remaining two. I am in constant contact and coordination with Turkey’s Interior Minister,” Geladze said.
The Turkish aircraft, which had departed from Azerbaijan, crashed near the Azerbaijani-Georgian border.
