
Azerbaijan to reduce peacetime military service for officers by 6 months
In Azerbaijan, the peacetime military service term for officers called up from the reserve or serving voluntarily under contract will be reduced by six months, Azerbaijani media report.
The relevant bill is currently being discussed at a session of the Defense, Security, and Anti-Corruption Committee of Azerbaijan’s Parliament.
On Oct. 30, the Armenian government approved a draft amendment to the Law on Military Service, according to which, starting with the 2025 winter draft, the mandatory 24-month military service will be reduced to 18 months.
