Among neighboring states, Armenia’s army ranks ahead only of Georgia in terms of strength

In the ranking of the world’s most powerful armies, Armenia, with a score of 2.0373, has taken the 90th place. The best possible score is 0.0000.

The Global Firepower ranking compares the armed forces of 145 countries across 60 indicators, including the quantity of equipment and personnel, as well as financial condition, the availability of resources, and other factors.

Military strength is determined not only by the size of a country’s armed forces, but also by its assets—ships, aircraft, defense budget, and access to natural resources (oil, coal).

The United States once again ranked first thanks to its largest defense budget and extensive military-technical arsenal. Russia took second place, noted for its powerful artillery and multiple rocket launch systems, while China ranked third, leading in naval capabilities.

India placed fourth in the ranking, and South Korea came fifth. The United Kingdom ranked sixth, France seventh, followed by Japan, Turkey, and Italy.

Among neighboring states, Georgia ranked 94th, Azerbaijan 60th, Iran 16th, and Turkey 9th.
