Senior US military officials secretly visit Kyiv

U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll and Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George have arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit, Politico reports, citing sources.

One of the reasons for the high-ranking military officials’ trip is Washington’s efforts to find ways to accelerate an end to the war with Russia.

The duo are slated to meet with Ukrainian military leaders, lawmakers and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the report, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has never visited Ukraine, making Driscoll and George the highest-ranking Pentagon officials to travel to Kyiv during the administration of President Donald Trump.

It was reported earlier that the United States and Russia have been secretly working on a new plan to halt the war in Ukraine.
