Russian foreign ministry says country’s position on Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization open and consistent

Russia’s position on the normalization of Armenian–Azerbaijani relations is open and consistent, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said during a press briefing.

She stated that Russia’s efforts are aimed at establishing lasting peace and prosperity in the region.

According to Zakharova, “Thanks to Vladimir Putin’s efforts, it was possible to stop the bloodshed in Karabakh in 2020 and 2023.”

“It is obvious that the trilateral agreements have not lost their relevance. On the contrary, these agreements form the roadmap for the peace process between Baku and Yerevan. As before, we are ready to assist in reaching a mutually beneficial solution that serves the interests of the South Caucasus countries and their neighbors,” Zakharova said.
