White House says talks with Ukraine in Geneva were constructive
The White House has issued a statement following Sunday’s peace negotiations held in Geneva.
“The talks were constructive, substantive, and respectful, underscoring our shared commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace,” reads the statement.
The United States and Ukraine “agreed on the highly effective nature of the talks.”
“The discussions demonstrated significant progress in aligning positions and clearly defining next steps. They reaffirmed that any future agreement must fully guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty and ensure a stable and just peace,” the White House stated.
As a result of the talks, the parties developed an updated and refined draft of the peace agreement.
“The Ukrainian delegation reaffirmed its appreciation for the United States and for President Donald Trump personally, for their continued commitment and tireless efforts to end the war and prevent further loss of life,” reads the statement.
