Georgia’s parliament speaker says Trump Route beneficial for entire region
The TRIPP initiative, announced after the U.S.-mediated peace summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan, opens new prospects for the entire region and will contribute to strengthening the Middle Corridor, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said, according to eadaily.com.
“This is important for developing competition and offering better conditions to carriers, thus making our corridor more attractive. Competition will only reinforce that,” Papuashvili noted.
According to him, the presence of yet another route in the South Caucasus demonstrates the region’s stability and will attract more investment.
“This is, in itself, a signal of regional stability, which will contribute to expanding all types of investments — both in infrastructure around the corridor and in various sectors of the region in terms of overall investment. Therefore, we welcome this initiative, which will benefit the entire region,” Papuashvili said.
