What happened in Homs: Details about Armenian families
Armenian families in Homs have reported that the situation in the city is stable, with security forces deployed in the southern neighborhoods, according to the Facebook page of Gandzasar weekly in Aleppo.
Yesterday, a married couple was killed in Homs, after which tensions rose in the city. There were reports that attacks against Alawite and Armenian residents began following the incident. Subsequently, a curfew was imposed in the southern districts, and security forces were deployed to maintain order.
It is reported that government forces are now doing everything possible to ensure the normal functioning of the city. The incident took place near the area known as the “Armenian Quarter,” where no Armenians currently reside. Several Armenian families live in nearby neighborhoods.
Armenian residents in Homs told Gandzasar that, according to locals, the incident was the result of a family dispute between two households.
