Musk calls Reuters ‘the worst news agency’
The U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has denied Reuters’ report claiming that it has been dissolved.
“As always, this is fake news from Reuters. President Trump has received a mandate from the American people to modernize the federal government and reduce waste, fraud, and exploitation. Just last week, DOGE terminated 78 wasteful contracts, saving taxpayers $335 million. We will return in a few days with our regular Friday updates,” DOGE stated.
Commenting on DOGE’s post, American billionaire Elon Musk called Reuters “the worst news agency.”
Earlier, Reuters had reported that the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, which was headed by businessman Elon Musk until the end of May, had been dissolved eight months before the end of its planned operational term.
The department is scheduled to cease operations in July 2026. Reuters, citing official documents, reported that many of DOGE’s functions have been transferred to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
