Kallas says Russia’s return to G8 must not happen

Russia’s return to the G8 should not take place, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said in an interview with BBC Radio 4.

“Such a thing must absolutely not happen. It is impossible even to imagine. We cannot continue as before…,” Kallas commented on Russia’s potential return to the G8.

She stated that the final version of the peace plan should make it impossible for Russia to attack again.

“If we want this to end once and for all, Russia truly must make some concessions,” Kallas said. “You cannot invade another country and face no consequences for it.”

The original version of the U.S. 28-point plan on Ukraine had included provisions for Russia’s return to the G8.
