Georgian authorities to sue BBC

The Georgian authorities plan to take legal action against the BBC over a false report claiming the use of chemical agents against protesters, TASS reports, citing a statement from the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party.

The previous day, the BBC published a report alleging that in 2024, Georgian authorities had used chemical weapons dating back to World War I against protesters. The authors of the report based their conclusions on comments from protesters.
