The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Artsakh informs that a criminal case has been filed regarding the Azerbaijani side opening fire in Askeran.
At around 5:00 p.m. on June 8, unknown persons from the Azerbaijani combat positions located in the Sargsashen administrative area, motivated by national hatred, shot from firearms at Lernik and Narine Gasparyan, a husband and wife working in their backyard, residents of the Sarushen village of Askeran region. Because they were able to hide, and the bullets hit the wall, the perpetrators failed in their attempt.
In connection with the mentioned fact, a criminal case has been initiated with the features of the crime provided for in Clauses 1 and 14, Part 2, Article 33-103 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Artsakh. The prosecutor’s office of Askeran region carries out the supervision and judicial management of the legality of the pre-trial criminal proceedings of the case.
