Erdogan and Macron discuss Ukraine war and South Caucasus situation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and French President Emmanuel Macron held a phone conversation on Wednesday.

The leaders discussed Turkish-French relations, the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, and regional issues. Erdoğan emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries and noted that Turkey is making efforts to bring the war to a fair and sustainable peace. They also agreed to continue dialogue to revive the Istanbul process.

The Turkish president added that diplomacy remains the primary tool for achieving peace and reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the ceasefire.

The conversation also covered the situation in the South Caucasus, Gaza, and Syria.
