From shattered dreams to house under renovation

Today, all I have is thanks to all the people who help us,
Shogher says. She has lost part of her homeland, her house and her job.

Today, they live in a one-bedroom apartment with 11 people.
They left Artsakh on Sept. 25, waited 15 hours in Stepanakert, only 25 minutes
away from home, and left home for an indefinite period.

The car was small, so Shogher’s father had to leave in their
neighbor’s car. Everyone was busy taking things that seemed most precious to
them at that moment. Our compatriots who have gone through many hardships —
war, blockade, again war, then displacement — are still fighting for survival.
Filled with longing, they do not know what to do — to find a house, a job, or
to start with a clean slate:
