Lavrov says attempt to seize Russian assets sign that EU funds have run out

The attempt to seize Russian assets is a sign of desperation and indicates that the European Union has simply exhausted the funds needed to finance Kyiv’s regime in the war, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today in the Federation Council.

Lavrov also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump is the only Western leader who understands the root causes of the war in Ukraine.

The day before, Trump stated that Russia holds a stronger negotiating position and that Zelensky should make concessions.
