Gas and electricity supplies cut off in Artsakh for two months now; Situation still tense in the Lachin Corridor: Pashinyan and Putin meet in Sochi
A meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was held in Sochi. The Russian president said: “Dear Nikol Vladimirovich, we hold meetings on a regular basis. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to discuss the current situation regarding the bilateral relations and regional issues within the framework of today’s meeting. We discussed these topics in detail during our previous meeting. I’m very happy to see you.”
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said: “I’m much obliged, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich. First, I would like to congratulate you on upcoming Russia Day and wish the best for the Russian Federation. Yes, we truly meet regularly and address a wide range of issues. Today, as well, we will refer to the bilateral relations and regional issues.
We will also discuss the situation in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, that is, in Nagorno-Karabakh. Unfortunately, the humanitarian crisis there continues to be acute. It’s been two months since gas and electricity supplies were cut off in Nagorno-Karabakh. The situation in the Lachin Corridor remains rather tense. In fact, I should emphasize that food supplies are provided to Nagorno-Karabakh through the help of the Russian peacekeepers. This is about limited supplies of food. Nagorno-Karabakh is still facing a humanitarian crisis. This is a burning issue as well, and I’m sure that we will refer to it today.”
The Russian President also met with the participants of the meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the CIS Heads of Government Council.
