Bayramov says Azerbaijan knew about increase in flights from Turkey to Armenia

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a press conference that “Turkey is a brotherly state for Azerbaijan,” adding that they are allies and that such relations no longer exist.

He noted that the relations are based not only on “historical ties” but also on the sincere personal relationship between the leaders of the two countries.

“Turkey has always supported Azerbaijan on issues related to Armenia. After the 44-day Patriotic War [quotes by editor], the process of normalizing relations between Turkey and Armenia was also carried out in a coordinated manner. This has produced positive results. My colleague Hakan Fidan also stated in the Turkish parliament that relations between Turkey and Armenia depend on the relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I am confident that this work will continue,” Bayramov said.

Starting next year, the increase in flights from Turkey to Armenia, he added, is not new for them. “We have been informed about this decision,” Bayramov stated.
