Hovhannes Bachkov beats Turkish opponent 5:0
Hovhannes Bachkov, the leader of the Armenian national boxing team and an Olympic bronze medalist, won his second victory at the World Boxing Championship in Tashkent.
In the 1/8 finals of the World Championship, Bachkov defeated Turkish boxer Kagan Kanli with a score of 5:0 (30-27, 30-25, 29-28, 29-28) by unanimous decision of the referees.
The Armenian athlete advanced to the quarterfinals. Gurgen Madoyan will also enter the ring tonight to hold his first fight in the championship. His opponent is Chinese Taipei’s Lin Yu.
