Tense night in Iran: ABC Media learns new details
The situation in Iran was tense overnight. During acts of mass civil disobedience, police stations were attacked, gunfire was reported in Tehran, and fatalities were recorded.
“There is no access to state media, the internet has been completely shut down, and the flow of information is extremely one-sided, coming only from Western sources, which, of course, present events in a highly exaggerated and inflated manner. However, the fact remains that last night was the most critical so far, and in some cases the protests even slipped out of control,” Armenians living in Iran told ABC Media.
According to them, several protest hotspots emerged across Tehran. Given the city’s vast size, authorities found it difficult to maintain control.
“It will be extremely complex and difficult,” they said.
At this time, the Armenian community remains safe, and no injuries have been reported among its members.
