Van emerges as a key hub for solar energy in Turkey
According to Turkish media, the installed capacity of solar power plants in Turkey’s Van province has reached 223.7 megawatts as of 2025. Long sunny days, a high-altitude geographic location, and suitable land resources make Van an important destination for renewable energy investments, Ermenihaber reports.
As reported, thanks to both existing facilities and newly planned projects, Van aims to increase electricity generation not only to meet domestic demand but also to supply the wider region, thereby strengthening Turkey’s energy security and clean energy production capacity.
