‘Nobody convinced me — I convinced myself’: Trump on decision not to strike Iran
US President Donald Trump has said no one attempted to persuade him to abandon plans to strike Iran, Sky News reports.
“Nobody convinced me. I convinced myself,” Trump told reporters when asked whether Arab or Israeli countries had sought to dissuade him from launching an attack on Iran.
Trump noted that his decision was “greatly influenced” by the fact that Iranian authorities canceled more than 800 executions scheduled for Jan. 15.
Earlier, on Jan. 15, AFP reported that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman had persuaded Trump to refrain from attacking Iran.
