Spain expects Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign peace treaty

Spain welcomes the progress made in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, based on the peace agreement signed in Washington on Aug. 8 last year, Francina Armengol Socias, President of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain, has said.

“I expressed Spain’s appreciation for the progress achieved in normalizing relations between Baku and Yerevan during my meeting with Azerbaijan’s parliamentary speaker Sahiba Gafarova. We hope that, under the right conditions, this process will be concluded with the signing of a peace treaty,” the official stated.
