5,848 killed and 41,283 arrested in Iran protests

Since protests began in Iran on Dec. 28 last year, clashes have left 5,848 people dead, including 209 law enforcement personnel, according to the Iran Human Rights (IHR) news agency based in the US.

The agency reports that 41,283 people have been arrested in connection with events across multiple regions of the country.
