Israel’s foreign minister says country to continue strengthening ties with Azerbaijan

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with leaders of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani media report.

“Today, around 30,000 Jews live in Azerbaijan alongside the country’s Muslim population in an atmosphere of mutual respect, preserving religious tolerance and freedom of belief.

For generations, Azerbaijan has served as an example and model in a Muslim-majority country, allowing the Jewish community to live prosperously and safely.

I believe in the relationship between our two countries. The large Jewish community that moved to Israel and those remaining in Azerbaijan form a strong human bridge for continuously growing ties across many fields. We will continue to strengthen these relations,” Sa’ar wrote.
