
Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s ambassadors discuss South Caucasus situation in Germany
On Jan. 27, Armenian Ambassador to Germany Viktor Yengibaryan and Azerbaijani Ambassador Nasimi Aghayev participated in a discussion on the South Caucasus, titled “Turning Points in the South Caucasus: Historical Peace Between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Germany’s Role, and Europe’s New Eastern Connection”. The event was held at the invitation of Armin Laschet, chair of the Bundestag’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Armenian embassy reports.
In his remarks, Ambassador Yengibaryan expressed gratitude to the German government and personally to Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, who previously served as chair of the Germany–South Caucasus Parliamentary Friendship Group, for his constructive work and support in prior years.
The event was attended by dozens of experts, lawmakers, and media representatives. It was organized by the University of Munich and the Institute for International Cooperation, Technological Diplomacy, and Communication at Aachen University.
