Iran’s foreign minister says country hasn’t requested talks with US

Iran has not made any proposal or request to start negotiations with the United States, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters.

“We have not requested negotiations with the United States. However, third parties are making mediating efforts, and we are in contact with them,” Araghchi said.

A few days earlier, US President Donald Trump stated in Davos during the signing ceremony of the Board of Peace charter: “Iran wants dialogue. We will talk.”
