‘We are turning the page on decades of hostility’, foreign minister says at PACE

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed deep appreciation for the Council of Europe’s consistent attention to the region and its support for normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Mirzoyan made the comments during a speech at today’s PACE winter session.

“We are turning the page on decades of hostility. We are grateful that you are with us on this historic path toward a stable and prosperous future,” he said.

At the same time, Mirzoyan stated that Armenia remains fully committed to normalizing relations with Turkey.

“Continued progress in the Armenia-Turkey normalization process—including opening the border, establishing diplomatic relations, and restoring the Gyumri-Kars railway—will make a significant contribution to regional stability and prosperity,” Mirzoyan added.
