Turkey taking necessary measures to prevent Iran–US conflict, Turkish defense ministry says

Turkey is taking necessary steps to prevent a potential conflict between Iran and the United States, the country’s Ministry of National Defense said in a statement addressing rising tensions between Washington and Tehran.

Ankara expressed concern over the growing instability in the region, noting that all necessary measures are being taken in coordination with relevant authorities to prevent possible negative developments.

“Turkey does not want new tensions or conflicts to emerge in our region. We continue our efforts to eliminate all conflicts and to establish peace and stability in the region,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to visit Turkey on Friday. He is expected to discuss regional issues with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
