British citizens to travel to China visa-free

UK citizens will be able to travel visa-free to China for trips under 30 days, Keir Starmer announces during a visit to Beijing, according to the BBC.

“Businesses have been crying out for ways to grow their footprints in China,” Starmer stated.

Meanwhile, pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, headquartered in the UK, announces a $15bn investment in China.

Earlier the British PM said the relationship between the UK and China was in a “good, strong place” after talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing.

Xi said there have been “twists and turns” in China-UK ties, but engagement is “unavoidable.”
