Azerbaijan rules out use of its territory for military action against Iran or any other country

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi had a phone conversation.

During the discussion, the situation surrounding Iran was addressed. Bayramov noted that recent regional tensions are concerning and emphasized that Azerbaijan has consistently urged all parties to refrain from actions or rhetoric that could cause instability in and around Iran.

It was stated that existing issues must be resolved solely in accordance with international law, through dialogue and diplomacy.

Bayramov also stressed that Azerbaijan will never allow its airspace or territory to be used for military operations against neighboring Iran or any other country.

The ministers also exchanged views on bilateral matters of mutual interest as well as other regional issues.
