‘I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close’: Trump threatens to sue Grammy host Trevor Noah
US President Donald Trump has threatened to file a lawsuit against Trevor Noah, host of the 2026 Grammy Awards, after Noah referenced Trump’s alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein during his opening monologue.
During the ceremony, Noah made a joke about Trump and financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused and convicted of sexual exploitation and child abuse.
“There you have it, song of the year! Congratulations, Billie Eilish. Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants, almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” Noah said during the telecast. “Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton.”
Responding to Noah’s remarks and the awards show, Trump wrote on Truth Social that “the Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable!”
“Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media. Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast,” Trump wrote.
He further threatened to file a defamation lawsuit against the host, calling him “talentless” and “dope.”
The ceremony also saw several celebrities criticize Trump over his immigration policies. Among them were Album of the Year winner Bad Bunny, Olivia Dean, Kehlani, Gloria Estefan, and Billie Eilish.
