NATO ready to provide rapid support to Ukraine: Highlights from Rutte’s speech in Kyiv
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte told Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada that NATO countries are ready to provide rapid support to Ukraine.
Here are highlights from Rutte’s speech:
- Since last summer, the alliance has provided 90% of Ukraine’s air defense systems and 75% of the missiles listed as needed by Ukraine.
- As soon as a peace agreement is signed, armed forces, aircraft, and naval support from willing countries will be deployed.
- Other NATO members will help in other ways, though Rutte did not specify how.
- NATO is learning from Ukraine, which is applying innovations in a unique way.
