Netherlands’ 54-year-old queen joins the army, RTL Nieuws writes

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands will serve in the country’s armed forces as a reservist, RTL Nieuws reports, citing sources from the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

According to the outlet, “Queen Máxima will join the Ministry of Defense as a part-time service member. She will serve as a reservist.”

The 54-year-old queen will undergo a short military training course and will learn skills including shooting.
