Kopirkin says Russia at origins of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations normalization
Russia has been at the origins of the process to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as to unblock border communications, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said in an interview with Rossiya-24, TASS writes.
“We believe in this area, and more broadly in the transport sector, cooperation should develop on a mutually beneficial and fair basis, and of course take into account the interests of all stakeholders in the region and their neighbors,” the Russian ambassador said.
Moscow is ready to discuss Russia’s potential participation in the Trump Route project, particularly considering the cooperation between Russia and Armenia in the development of the railway sector. Kopirkin stressed that Russia is closely following developments around the widely publicized US-Armenian Trump Route project.
“However, regarding practical details, they are only beginning to emerge, and their actual implementation will likely take some time. Of course, Russia is monitoring and will continue to monitor this process. We are ready to discuss the possibility of joining this initiative,” he added.
