Kobakhidze announces completion date for highway linking Turkey and Azerbaijan via Georgia

Construction of nearly all major sections of the highway running from Turkey’s border through Georgia to the borders with Azerbaijan and Armenia is expected to be completed by the end of 2030, Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze has stated.

He said that the Georgian government aims to make the most of the country’s strategic location.

“One of our main objectives is to develop the country’s transport and transit functions. Significant investments are being made in this sector,” Kobakhidze added.
