Russia ready to discuss with Yerevan possible involvement in TRIPP, Galuzin said

Russia is ready to discuss the terms of its potential involvement in the TRIPP project with Yerevan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Izvestia.

“We have maintained our position regarding the Trump Route project. The details of the Armenian-American initiative still need to be studied. We are ready to consult with our partners in Yerevan to discuss both the terms and Russia’s possible involvement in one form or another,” the diplomat said.

Galuzin also noted that Armenia’s railway network will be operated by a subsidiary of Russian Railways until 2038, the country uses the Russian railway line, and Russian border guards are stationed at the border with Iran.

“We must also take into account Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union. Under these conditions, it is clear that our partners cannot act without Russia,” the deputy minister stated.

He further highlighted that significant progress has already been made in unblocking regional communications through the Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan trilateral format at the deputy prime minister level.
