Kyrgyz president says no coup’ll take place in the country
There are no grounds for a violent change of power in the Kyrgyz Republic, President Sadyr Japarov said during a meeting with representatives of the state news agency Kabar in Bishkek.
“There will be no coup or anything like that. First, the law does not provide for it, and second, such a situation does not exist,” the politician stated.
On Feb. 10, the Kyrgyz leader dismissed his long-time associate Kamchybek Tashiev, who held the posts of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the State Committee for National Security.
Following this, the speaker of parliament resigned, while several ministers lost their portfolios.
