55 Azerbaijani citizens among Islamic State militants transferred from Syrian prisons to Iraq

Fifty-five Azerbaijani citizens were among members of the Islamic State transferred from Syrian prisons to Iraq, according to Iraq’s Ministry of Justice.

The ministry noted that the list includes nationals from 65 other countries in addition to Azerbaijan.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the completion of the transfer of convicted Islamic State members from Syria to Iraq. In total, approximately 5,700 prisoners were transferred from Syria to Iraq.
