US launches full withdrawal of troops from Syria

The United States has started a complete withdrawal of its forces from Syria, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources.

According to the newspaper, the US has already begun pulling out around 1,000 troops remaining in Syria. The process could take approximately two months.

The report notes that the decision is not related to the deterioration of US-Iran relations. However, the Pentagon has not yet officially confirmed this information.

Earlier in February, reports indicated that US Central Command had completed the planned withdrawal of American forces from the Al-Tanf base in Syria.
