Who was the man who tried to breach Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate?
The man shot and killed by US Secret Service agents near Mar-a-Lago has been identified as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin from Cameron, North Carolina, the New York Post writes.
According to social media posts, Martin’s family had been searching for him since Saturday evening. His mother, Melissa Martin, announced his disappearance on her social media account.
Martin’s own social media accounts show a passion for painting golf course landscapes. His Instagram featured a series of watercolor and black-and-white sketches, many of which appear to depict Quail Ridge Golf Club, located roughly 15–20 miles north of his home. His last post was three days ago.
Martin’s cousin, Brayden Fields, told the Associated Press that Martin was a calm young man, afraid of guns, and came from a family loyal to President Trump. Fields added that Martin worked at a golf club and donated a portion of his monthly earnings to charity.
Earlier reports stated that US Secret Service agents shot and killed an armed man who had illegally entered Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Agents observed the approximately 20-year-old at the estate gates, carrying a shotgun and a container of fuel. After issuing orders to drop the weapon, which he did not obey, agents opened fire.
