
Louvre director resigns
Laurence des Cars, director of the Louvre Museum, has submitted her resignation to French President Emmanuel Macron, Franceinfo writes.
According to the report, des Cars submitted her resignation on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The French president accepted it, describing the move as an act of responsibility.
Des Cars had previously submitted her resignation in October 2025, but Macron rejected it at the time amid planned restoration work at the museum.
