Iran sees retaliation for Khamenei’s killing as its duty, Pezeshkian says
Iran considers it both its duty and legal right to seek revenge for the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, according to TASS.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers it its duty and legal right to punish those responsible for this crime,” Pezeshkian said.
According to the president, the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader and a prominent Shiite figure constitutes “an open declaration of war” against Muslims, particularly Shiites worldwide.
