Ambassador warns Iran’s potential defeat would have consequences for Armenia
Iran’s weakening or defeat in the current war would also deal a blow to Armenia, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, said at a press conference today, stressing that he was speaking not as an ambassador but as an analyst.
“I believe it is no secret to anyone that throughout history certain countries have harbored ambitions toward Armenia. While today we may say these ambitions are like fires hidden beneath ashes, they still exist,” the ambassador stated.
“Our heartfelt wish is for Armenia to be a strong state. God willing, Iran will not suffer defeat in this war, and Armenia will not be harmed as a result,” he added.
