Qatar appeals to UN over Iran’s attack

Qatar has sent an official statement to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, and to the president of the UN Security Council regarding an attack on Qatari territory, the Qatar News Agency reports.

In the document, the attack is described as a blatant violation of national sovereignty, an attack against the country’s security and territorial integrity, and an unacceptable escalation threatening regional stability.

The country’s defense ministry reported that its forces shot down two Iranian Su-24 aircraft and intercepted seven ballistic missiles and five drones that had struck Qatari territory.
