Pentagon chief says US plans to eliminate all of Iran’s defensive structures soon
According to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, the United States and Israel have struck more than 15,000 targets in Iran, TASS reports.
“Our air forces, together with Israel’s air forces, have hit over 15,000 targets,” he said at a press briefing.
Hegseth added that today’s strikes over Iran and its capital, Tehran, are expected to be intense.
“Very soon, all of Iran’s defensive structures will be destroyed,” he said, adding that Iran’s new Supreme Leader Khamenei has reportedly been “wounded.”
“We know that the so-called ‘not-so-supreme’ new leader is wounded… Yesterday he issued a statement, frankly rather weak, but there was no audio or video. It was a written statement. He called for unity. Apparently, the killing of tens of thousands of protesters is his idea of ‘unity.’ Iran has many cameras and recorders. Why was it a written statement? I think you understand why,” he said.
Hegseth also noted that Iran has no air defense, noting: “Iran has no air force. Iran has no navy. Their missiles, launchers, and drones are being destroyed or shot down in the skies. Their missile stockpiles have been reduced by 90%. Yesterday, the number of their kamikaze attack drones decreased by 95%.”
