Winners of the 2026 Academy Awards announced

The 98th Academy Awards, one of the most prestigious ceremonies in the film industry, took place overnight.

The award for Best Picture went to One Battle After Another, beating nine other nominees. The film won a total of six Oscars, the BBC writes.

Sinners, the most Oscar-nominated film in Academy history with 16 nominations, won four awards.

The Best Director award went to Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another. Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his role in Sinners, while Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet.
