
Vast majority back new constitution in Kazakhstan
A nationwide referendum was held in Kazakhstan, in which 86.7% of voters supported the adoption of a new constitution, Meduza writes.
The new Constitution was drafted in just 22 days. It introduces significant changes to the country’s state structure.
Among other provisions, it strengthens the powers of the president, prohibits political parties from receiving foreign funding, and defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
