Germany rejects Trump, refuses to join international effort to patrol Strait of Hormuz
Germany will not participate in a potential international military effort to safeguard commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, Daily Sabah writes, citing Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
“Will we soon become an active part of this conflict? No,” Wadephul said, addressing the conflict in the Middle East.
Wadephul said that the US and Israel were saying that the aim was to destroy Iran’s military capabilities, in particular its nuclear and missile programs.
“And what we now expect is to be told and kept informed, and to be involved once this has happened. And then we would very much like to take part in entering into negotiations,” the minister noted.
