Lebanese PM willing to negotiate with Israel

The Lebanese government is ready to begin bilateral negotiations with Israel to resolve the conflict, according to TASS, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said in an interview with Al Hadath TV.

“We have lifted the ban on negotiations with the Jewish state and are now forming a delegation to engage with the Israeli side,” Salam said, adding that the agenda for upcoming meetings is being discussed.

Salam confirmed that on March 19 he asked US President Donald Trump to help facilitate a ceasefire.

“I have declared my willingness to conduct immediate negotiations with Israel, because this conflict can only be resolved through diplomatic means,” he said.
