
Turkish official confirms Ankara is playing mediator between Washington and Tehran
Harun Armagan, Deputy Chair for Foreign Affairs of Turkey’s ruling party, has stated that Ankara is acting as a mediator between Washington and Tehran, The Times of Israel reports.
He noted that Turkey is helping relay messages between Iran and the US in order to reduce tensions and encourage direct negotiations.
The official did not provide details on the content of the messages, but added that they are also being conveyed to Gulf countries involved in the escalating regional conflict in the Middle East.
